Children’s Program during the Inaugural Minyan Midbar/Desert Minyan Shabbat Morning Service

Join us for a welcoming, child-friendly Shabbat morning service with music, community, and learning.

Minyan Midbar is a Shabbat morning service centered on communal Jewish prayer, with supervised kids’ activities and opportunities for parents to connect. Come for all or part of the morning.

Event details

• When: Saturday, April 25, 2026 • 9:30 a.m.–12:00 p.m. (meets every 4th Saturday)
• Where (April 25): UU Santa Fe, 107 W. Barcelona, Santa Fe
• Cost: Free. For Children ages 2 and up.

What to expect

• Supervised childcare from 9:30-12pm concurrent with 3 segments of the morning.
• 9:30-10:15am Soulful Shabbat morning service with beautiful melodies with childcare in the children’s area at the back of the UU sanctuary. Parents are also welcome to have their children sit with them.
• 10:15-11:15 Kiddush and food in the Fellowship Hall. Children return to childcare in sanctuary while adults enjoy a choice of two study sessions.
• 11:15-12:00. The Torah service/reading takes place in sanctuary while kids go to Fellowship hall for musical program (songs, story, Hebrew letter, and a coloring activity) led by Alix Lancaster. Children will then ascend the Bimah to join the end of the service.
• Supervised childcare will be provided by Claire Catlett. Alix and Claire are pictured below.
